KE 12 - EDUCATE A WOMAN, EDUCATE THE SOCIETY

Project Location

The project is carried out in Nairobi and its surroundings, where urbanization has impoverished the outskirts of the city. Many are the young people who move to the city to look for work, but often due to the low level of literacy they do not find, thus they end up in underpaid jobs and encounter extreme poverty.

Project description

As Comboni Sisters, we believe that the education of a society passes through the education of women. The goal is not only to help young women finish their studies in order to have the opportunity to get a better job in the future, but also to avoid situations of poverty and marginalization that led many girls to unwanted and unplanned pregnancies leading to early marriages.

Moreover, young women will not only acquire a professional formation, but also a moral and spiritual formation that will prepare them to help others face difficult situations.

Objectives

  • To give 5 young women the opportunity to study and be professionally prepared for the future
  • To improve the standard of living of these young women and consequently that of their families

Beneficiaries

Direct: 5 young university students

Indirect: Families
