ZAM 30 - NEW MULTIPURPOSE ROOM FOR THE FORMATION HOUSE
Project Location
The project is being carried out in Lusaka, where the Comboni Missionary Sisters have a Formation House and where they would like to build and furnish a multipurpose hall to meet the needs of the ever-growing community.
Project description
The new hall will represent the spiritual heart of the missionary and formative life of the Lusaka house: it will be the place of daily encounter with God, the celebration of the Eucharist, community prayer, silence, vocational discernment, the "Yes," and various community activities. Unfortunately, the space currently used is no longer sufficient to accommodate the young women in formation and the community with dignity.
The new multipurpose hall aims to offer an atmosphere of reflection, peace, and sacredness necessary to nourish spiritual life. Liturgical celebrations, spiritual retreats, days of reflection, and moments of prayer are often limited and overcrowded, making it difficult to fully experience community prayer.
For this reason, the construction of a multipurpose hall—simple yet dignified—has become an urgent necessity. The hall will be dedicated to the Sacred Heart.
The project includes:
- The construction of a room measuring approximately 7 x 9 meters
- A small utility room
- Basic furnishings and liturgical books
Objectives
- Offer young women in formation a sacred place of silence, prayer, and encounter with God, where they can grow in their missionary vocation and prepare to serve the Gospel and the People of God.
- Provide spaces for missionary animation for the community.
