TG 14 - QUALITY TRAINING FOR YOUNG WOMEN

Project Location
The project is carried out in Lomé, the capital of the Republic of Togo, a West African country located in the Gulf of Guinea. The project also includes the neighboring countries: Benin and Ghana. The Comboni Missionary Sisters have been present in Togo for 26 years. Since then, the Sisters have been particularly attentive to helping young people make life choices and discern their vocation, offering a path of vocational discernment with human, Christian, Biblical, missionary and Comboni education.

Project description
The professional support project aims to create the conditions and provide the appropriate means to awaken and mature in young people their vocation and to respond to it. An itinerary that leads to the discovery of different types of vocations: secular life, professional, religious, and includes the Comboni missionary vocation, and wants to contribute to the construction of a project and a life option. It is a path of support and training offered to any girl who has questions about her life, her faith, her future and wishes to be supported to find and pursue her vocation, a path of happiness.
This path also includes the promotion of girls' education, convinced that education is undoubtedly the door that opens to knowledge and opportunities, especially for girls. However, in these contexts, there are numerous and complex obstacles to their schooling and the possibilities of choosing their own life project.
This process of support and professional training is aimed at young girls from Togo, Benin and Ghana and takes place in the following phases:
- Support for girls' education at secondary and university level: it is through education that girls find their voice and the support they need to build their future.
- Training workshops to offer girls a future perspective and the choice of a life project.
- Monthly training meetings, both theoretical and practical, where young people learn to develop their knowledge and new skills.
- Personalized support service, in view of choosing your life project.
Objectives
- Allow girls to acquire the required skills and quality education.
- Provide girls with a training and professional support path that offers them an experience of deepening the meaning of their life and their place in society.
- Awaken in young people the ability to listen to God's call and the desire to respond positively and help them to know the different ways in which they can commit themselves to the service of the Church and society.
- Deepen the fundamental option in view of deciding their own life project in society, in the Church or in religious life.
Local contribution
The girls give a small contribution in kind or money for the meetings.
