ITA 05 - INTERCONTINENTAL FORMATION: NOVITIATE IN BRESCIA
Project Location
The Congregation has decided to open, for the first time, an international novitiate and has chosen to do so in Brescia, in the diocese of our founder Saint Daniel Comboni. This will be a way for the girls in formation, who come from Africa and Latin America, to get to know the places where Saint Daniel was born, to learn Italian well and, for the first time, to come into contact with a European reality and with the historical roots of our congregation.
Project description
The international novitiate, which began on December 8, 2024, lasts two years and aims to prepare young nuns for the complex reality of the mission, starting from an already international and intercultural coexistence. Over the course of two years, the young women will receive human, psychological, spiritual, theological and missionary formation to reach their First Profession and then begin their life as consecrated sisters for the mission ad gentes where they will be assigned.
Objective
- To offer human, psychological, spiritual, theological and missionary formation to 7 young novices
Beneficiaries
Direct: 7 novices from Mozambique, Chad, Ethiopia, Congo and Brazil
Indirect: the peoples to whom the young women, once professed, will be sent
Local participation
The costs of formation and daily life are entirely borne by the Institute. This project aims to cover the expenses related to the stay in Italy and to study.
