ZAM 31 - A CLEAN WORLD
Project Location
The project takes places in the northwestern province of Zambia, precisely in one area of the district of Mongu. It is a rural area with villages dispersed in an area of 50 km.
Project description
This project wants to create awareness in the population about the environmental problem. With workshops given to 70 animators, already health promoters, we want to explain about the toxicity of the contamination of plastics that are found everywhere; the consequences of the contamination which cause problems of hygiene and health, the damage of burning plastics and create the idea of collecting and recycling.
These animators, in turn, will pass on the knowledge they have acquired through workshops to 640 persons in the various villages.
Objectives
- To have made sure that the population lives in a clean and healthy environment.
- To have created the idea of a style of life where people have acquired the habit of collecting plastics regularly in a given place for an eventual recycling or to sell it in Mongu.
Beneficiaries
Direct: 70 animators and 640 people of different villages
Indirect: the inhabitants of the surrounding villages (about 3,200 persons).
