TG 10 - YOUTH ON A MISSION
Project Location
The project takes place in Lomé, the capital of the Republic of Togo, a West African country. The Comboni Missionary Sisters have been present in Togo for 28 years, committed to evangelization, particularly among young people. The sisters are focused on helping young people understand God's will and come to know themselves through evangelization, human and Christian education, and Bible teaching, especially for young people.
Project description
This youth education project aims to provide young people with a Bible both in schools and at home. It also aims to help schools have readily available first aid kits.
This initiative, designed to support youth education and health, is structured into the following phases:
- Promote youth education, including providing Bibles, particularly at Magnificat College in Adidogome, for religious and Bible study classes
- Providing first aid supplies for emergencies during children's stay at school
- Initiating a human and spiritual development workshop to foster their holistic growth
- Promote weekly Bible study sessions with each class and with young people in church groups, for deeper study and prayer with the Bible
Objectives
- Deepen the faith of young people and better manage daily life with courage and hope in God
- Awaken in young people the ability to interpret and understand the Word of God
- Transform the world to come by visiting families
- Ensure the safety of young people, even at school
Local contribution
Young people who have a Bible at home bring it and read it with others; they visit sick or elderly families nearby to share God's Word and contribute a small amount according to their means.
