TCH 23 – NEW PREMISES FOR THE SEWING SCHOOL

Project Location
Bébédjia is a city located in the south of Chad. Most of the population lives from agriculture and livestock. The most cultivated products are millet, sorghum, corn, cassava, various vegetables, peanuts and cotton. The lifestyle is simple and varies according to the production throughout the year.
Given the importance of women, this project aims to strengthen their condition and their ability to take care of their families. We are optimistic about their possibility of changing their living conditions because they are part of a fighting population and always looking for progress in life.

Project description
In 2020 we started a cutting and sewing project with 10 young women. To date, 40 have requested it.
Currently the course is held in an old dilapidated building. In order to make the course more functional we need to have a more practical structure to hold the training. In addition, we would also like to build a bathroom, a veranda and a small shop where the women can sell their products.
The most urgent need is the construction of the shed that we would like to complete by the beginning of the school year (September-October 2025). The rest will be completed when the funds are available.
Objectives
- Create a safer and healthier work environment
- Promote the dignity of women
- Provide them with a space to sell their products and thus support their families
Beneficiaries
Direct: 40 women
Indirect: families and society
