TCH 03 - FAITH MOVES MOUNTAINS

Project Location
This project is implemented in the parishes of Saint Jean Bosco de Maïbo and Saint Pierre Claver de Kyabé. The parish of Maibo is located 25 km southeast of the city of Sarh, and was erected as a parish on September 18, 2022. It is located in an area that is flooded during the rainy season and is therefore difficult to reach.
The parish of Saint Pierre Claver de Kyabé is located 99 km west of Sarh, in the southeast of Chad, in the department of Lac d'Iro. It has an area of 17,000 km2 and is made up of 323 villages. The parish was established around 1956 and is divided into 15 rural sectors.
Project description
The parish of Saint Pierre Claver in Kiabè is the largest parish in the diocese of Sarh. Given the size of the parish, we want to begin a ministry of strengthening evangelization, focusing much more on young people because they are the first victims of the various evils that afflict the country: exodus of boys and girls to the north in search of gold, pregnancy, forced marriage, school dropout due to lack of means, etc.
Both here and in the parish of Maibo, we would also like to train the young leaders of the Kemkogui movement (“one heart” a sort of local ACR), so that they can better serve the children and adolescents who follow them.
Objectives
- Comprehensively train the young leaders of the Kemkogui movement.
- Strengthen the first evangelization of the communities of the parish of St Pierre Claver in Kyabé
Beneficiaries
Direct: 46 girls, 34 boys
Indirect: families, society and the church
Referent sister of the project: Sr. Kujiha Monica Kawo
