SSD 02 - GIVING HOPE THROUGH EDUCATION
Project Location
The project is carried out in Wau and the surrounding villages. Education is not the government's priority in this insecure and unstable country after the war.
State schools often do not meet the expectations of young people and their parents, so people looking for education turn to private schools or church schools, where they have to pay for the enrollment form, school fees, uniforms and school supplies. The school fee therefore becomes a problem when the family has 3 or 4 children of school age, and if they have to choose families they give priority to the boys.
Project description
In South Sudan there are many people thirsty to have the opportunity to study, to prepare to help their country to have a future other than violence. People who want change and a better place where their children can receive a good education, quality health services and lasting peace. They believe that if you have the chance to prepare things could change little by little.
Education in Wau, although the quality is extremely low it is very expensive. The staff of our Hospital (St.Daniel Comboni Hospital-Wau) struggle to send their children to school. Therefore, we would like to give a hand paying one child per staff motivating them in this way.
