RDC 04 - SUPPORT FOR THE POOR OF LIMETE

Project Location
This project takes place in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kinshasa is a cosmopolitan city with an estimated population of 17,071,000 inhabitants on an area of 9,965 km2, located on the south bank of the Congo River, opposite the capital of the Republic of Congo Brazzaville.
Unfortunately, the number of poor people is increasing and when they knock on our door, especially that of our heart, we cannot remain indifferent.

Project description
This project aims to support the poor around our community of Limete. Occasionally we will help in urgent cases, for example in case of illness, or in paying rent or distributing food, but our concern is to help people take care of themselves, to become independent, to have a dignified life without having to constantly depend on others, which is not easy for people, especially the elderly.
We plan to support some mothers by giving them a sum of money with which they can buy rice, beans, cassava, oil, coal, whatever they feel most comfortable with to make their own small business and thus have the means to support their families. Lately, many old fathers also ask for help to run a small business. They often live alone and fear being a burden to the family.
Some younger mothers/fathers have managed to become independent for a while, but this is lost when an unexpected event occurs such as bereavement or serious illness. As far as possible, we will support these people by providing them with a micro-credit to help them get back on their feet, until they have the means to progress on their own.
Objectives
- Respond to the emergency of poverty with material and spiritual aid
- Provide a micro-credit so that people can become independent
